Junior Chamber International (JCI) is such an amazing organization. In the course of fulfilling its mission, I found myself in Ziguinchor on Wednesday, May 29 2013. Zig (the popular short form of the name) is the chief town of the Casamance area of Senegal. Zig lies along the Casamance River.
In Zig, I met another group of dynamic young women and men who work hard to accomplish the JCI mission which is “to provide development opportunities that empower young people to create positive change”.
The fellow JCI Ziguinchor members had invited me to deliver the content of the JCI Achieve course – which focuses on developing the JCI local Organization.
ChildFund Senegal’s office in Ziguinchor promptly made their conference room available for the course to hold. 12 participants were present and 3 hours after delivering the content of the course, we all went back home happy. On the one hand, the participants for receiving the latest knowledge JCI Achieve provides and on the other hand, me for the opportunity they gave me to gain experience with international audience.
I spent one night in Ziguinchor and the next morning before leaving with the Aline Sitoé Diatta, we had a tremendously good breakfast.
Do you know how to get to Ziguinchor? What about knowning how I got there?
